My name is Mireille. I am originally from Perpignan in the South of France but I have been living in London since the 80s. My background is in the City where I worked for over 20 years, developing and selling seminars for executives in the banking and asset management arenas. I hope my extensive corporate experience gives me valuable insight into the needs and language requirements of professionals wishing to learn French for business and financial purposes. Qualifying as a French trainer in 2011 transformed my life. Meeting people of different nationalities is fascinating and introducing them to the language and culture of my country is very rewarding.
I prefer teaching one to one or very small groups because I feel I can totally give them my time and attention. My priorities are to understand the needs/objectives of my students and to motivate them. Whatever their needs and levels, I will mix various teaching tools and will show them a range of different methods and resources at their disposal. Learning a language can be arduous, time consuming and requires regular practice so I often underline the need for self-study. I am also very grammar-oriented… (sorry). I grew up, like all French kids, having to learn my tenses, irregular verbs and other rules by heart. Often the old fashion way is the only way. But it doesn’t have to be a punishment and keeping a good sense of humour is important.
