About me
My name is Julia, I come from Austria, and I moved to London in 2008. Since then I’ve been teaching in various settings and gained a wide insight into language teaching for different purposes. My first teaching job in a grammar school as a foreign language assistant in London opened the door for my further career as a German teacher, which started at agencies, providing language classes for professionals, and led to university, where I’ve been teaching at King’s College, London Business School, University of Westminster and Imperial College London. I also spent one year in Hanoi, Vietnam working for the Goethe Institut, which was a very enriching experience for me personally as well as professionally.
My approach
When it comes to language learning and teaching, the most important thing for me is to create lessons that are informative and engaging, while being accountable for students’ progress, taking care to ensure they are supported according to their needs. German is not an easy language to learn, it is essential to keep that in mind from the beginning and be organised with the teaching as well as the studying. The reward will ideally be a clear improvement of skills which leads to a personal appreciation of the German language.
