After the great success of the first workshop, we are happy to invite you to the second workshop on Italian gesticulation with the film-maker Luca Vullo: “Tips for visiting Italy – Non-verbal communication as a completion or denial of verbal discourse”. This workshop will be another great opportunity for students of all levels to immerse themselves into the Italian language and culture. It will be interactive and there will be plenty of chances to practice and use gestures combined with Italian language in real-life situations.
Luca Vullo is a versatile Sicilian artist and film-maker who recognizes the educational value of audio-visual art and has been successfully involved in Media Education for several years. His docudrama on the Italians' non-verbal communication strategies, "The Voice of the Body", 2011, won numerous awards and launched Luca on the international spotlight (his works were screened at the Italian Cultural Institutes in London, Barcelona, Copenhagen, and Tirana). In 2012, Luca moved to London, where he worked as body language coach for the 2013 production of Pirandello’s ‘Liolà’ at the National Theatre (dir. Richard Eyre) and started a successful screening tour of The Voice of the Body in UK universities (UCL, Bristol, King’s College London), where he also held workshops on Italian non-verbal communication.
The second workshop on Italian gestures will be held on Wednesday, the 17th of June from 6.30 to 8.00pm at the Edgware Academy, 64-65 Long Acre, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9SX.
